Over a century after Marcus Garvey designed the Pan-African flag, those three bold colors of red, black, and green are still “freshii” to us! Year 3 of Kwanzaa Freshii with Giwayen Mata reminds us that our true liberation is in how we live each day.
Featuring Dr. Chike Akua’s iconic candle lighting ceremony plus performances by Giwayen Mata, Egun Omode Performing Arts, and Kilombo Creative Collective, this concert encourages us to:
R- reflect upon our history with reverence
B- build up our families, communities, and institutions
G-grow together in body, mind, resource, and spirit
Whether working together in our homes or planning collectively throughout the Diaspora, uplifting our culture is what we do everyday and especially during the Kwanzaa season. So, join us on December 30th at 3:00pm and remember to rock your RBG fashion to the celebration!
