West African Dance with Giwayen Mata
Set to live percussion of the djembe drum orchestra and tailored for beginning and intermediate dancers, this multi-generational community class lead by Artistic Director Tambra Omiyale Harris and other Giwayen Mata members, teaches fundamentals of dances from the Baga, Bambara, Malinke, and Susu people of Greater Senegambia.

Giwayen Mata class is canceled this Sunday, September 13.
Our usual space was unavailable so we worked to secure an alternate venue. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, that option did not fully manifest. We are committed to upholding the highest standards for our community, ensuring participant health and safety, quality venue, accessibility, and an amazing experience. For those reasons we are canceling on September 13 and returning on September 27.
Mark your calendars! On Sunday, September 27 Giwayen Mata will host a FREE Community Appreciation Class at our regular time and location – 3:00pm to 4:30pm at Moving In The Spirit!
