About the event
The Giwayen Mata dance floor has been a gathering place for men, women, children, elders, ameteurs, professionals, and more for over 25 years!
Our special guest T. Ayo will lead us in a session designed for drummers who like to dance...and dancers who like to drum! Participants will learn rhythms on various dounoun drums (kenkeni, sangba, dununba) while simultaneously learning dance movements...yes, the body will be doing it all at one time! This class suits drummers and dancers of all ages with experience in West African rhythms and dances.
