As we gear up for the Kwanzaa season and prepare for our annual Kwanzaa Freshii concert, Giwayen Mata pours into the youth. On Dec 7th, our last class of 2025, Atlanta's young dancers and drummers will take over our class and vendor marketplace. Bring the youth of your family and community w/ you!

About the event
This bi-weekly class is led by a rotating list of Giwayen Mata lead dancers to include Adi Bates, Joi Hudson, Nneka Gales, Tambra Omiyale Harris, and Zakiyyah Sabree. Perfect for dancers of all ages and experience levels, the Giwayen Mata dance floor has been a gathering place for men, women, children, elders, ameteurs, professionals, and more for over 25 years!
Bring: water, cash to "give the drummer some" (tips are optional), and your open mind.
Wear: comfortable athletic or dance wear to include but not limited to lappas/wrap skirts, shokatos/loose pants, leggings/briefs, and t-shirts/tanks.
Parking: arrive 15 minutes early to find parking; use of Candler Park MARTA lot is permissible.
For the safety of our community, Giwayen Mata reserves the right to refuse participation and admission to our dance class.
