West African Dance with Giwayen Mata

 

Set to live percussion of the djembe drum orchestra and tailored for beginning and intermediate dancers, this multi-generational community class lead by Artistic Director Tambra Omiyale Harris and other Giwayen Mata members, teaches fundamentals of dances from the Baga, Bambara, Malinke, and Susu people of Greater Senegambia.

Our bi-weekly community class is cancelled for February 1, 2026 due to inclement weather. Classes will resume on February 15, 2026.
